The King is the mighty ruler of the Kingdom Across the Sea and the father of the Prince.

Biography[]

War in Two Kingdoms[]

Out of love for the people of Arrethtrae, the King sought to establish a kingdom in that land. He chose Peyton and Dinan to rule the people in His name and established a home for them at Nedehaven. The King taught Peyton the art of swordsmanship and befriended him. He then returned to His own Kingdom, warning the pair against receiving gifts from those they did not know.[1]

Back in the Kingdom Across the Sea, unrest began to grow in the hearts of some of the King's Silent Warriors. Lucius, their commander, came to envy and resent the King and His Son and to spread these feelings among his comrades. However, the King was aware of this mounting rebellion, and when Keef and Ramon brought Him word of its beginning He acted swiftly. In council with His Son and the loyal Silent Warriors, Micalem was appointed the new commander of the Silent Warriors.[2]

The King, His Son, and Their loyal warriors prevailed, and Lucius fled across the Great Sea with his Shadow Warriors. Eager for revenge upon the King, Lucius became determined to conquer Arrethtrae. He began by deceiving Peyton and Dinan, destroying their palace and its other inhabitants, and leaving them to face the King in shame. However, in His mercy the King forgave the pair and instructed them to settle in the Plains of Kerr.

Peyton and Dinan raised their first children, twin sons, to honor the King, having been told by Him that their children would be key to the King’s plan. Tragically, the boy named Zane rebelled against these teachings. After he slew his own brother, the King had him marked with a scar upon his forehead and banished to another region of the kingdom. Peyton and Dinan then raised another son, named Leinad, before eventually being killed by Lucius and disease, respectively.

Throughout these events, the King’s Silent Warriors continued to battle the Shadow Warriors in a conflict hidden from most denizens of Arrethtrae. One of them, Gabrik, was tasked with forging a sword second in quality only to the King’s own. This was later delivered to Leinad, along with a charge to warn the people of Mankin and lead them to safety from the Vactor Deluge. Leinad and Tess, the only person to heed his warning, were later instructed to travel to the Valley of Nan as the King had chosen its people to carry forth His plan for the kingdom.

The King later appeared personally to Leinad after he was sentenced to death by the wicked Lord Fairos. Tending to the wounded and hungry young man, the King reaffirmed Leinad in his devotion to the King and mission to serve Him. He also completed Leinad’s training as a swordsman, declaring at its conclusion that Leinad could now be defeated now only if he turned from faithfulness to the King and served his own vanity instead. He also charged Leinad with freeing the people of Nan and others from Fairos’ tyranny.[1]

Leinad accomplished this mission, and led the people from Nyland. As they traversed the Red Canyon, Leinad and Tess saw the King atop a cliff. Leinad climbed to speak with Him, and the King told Leinad how to lead the people to the Chessington Valley. He also gave him the Articles of the Code, by which His people were to live.

When the people of the newly founded Chessington asked for a lord to rule over them, the King allowed it. Unfortunately, Lord Quinn eventually turned from his allegiance to the King under the influence of his wife Moradiah, who sought to establish him and herself as king and queen of Arrethtrae. As the people of Chessington largely joined in this rebellion, the King allowed them to fall prey to the Kessons of Daydrlon. However, after a period of bondage, He enabled their return to Chessington.[3]
